Observation Archives

SHIRO & Co. observes and records changing lives, sensibilities, markets, virtual spaces, classics, and children’s creativity in the age of AI.

Each archive is not a standalone medium or service.

They are observation projects designed to record, from different angles, the human behaviors, memories, discomforts, and layers of meaning that have begun to shift with AI.

Core Archive

This is the core archive recording changes in daily life, play, discomfort, creation, and ethical shifts emerging in the age of generative AI.

Rather than focusing on AI-generated outputs themselves, it observes the behaviors, surprises, anxieties, ingenuity, failures, and ways of enjoyment of the humans who use them.

Cultural Archives

This archive records memory, the city, the body, and the sense of an era through music.

Rather than reviewing songs or artists, it gathers the time, atmosphere, movement, sense of loss, and bodily sensations that sound leaves behind in daily life.

This is an observation archive studying photography, images, AI-generated imagery, and visual culture.

What moves us, what we choose to save, and what we define as having “seen.” This project records the shifts in gaze and memory in an era where images can be effortlessly generated.

An archive documenting clothing, rooms, tools, presence, aging, elegance, and the tactile qualities of daily life.

It observes the quietness, aesthetic sensibilities, and bodily sensations that remain in daily living, rather than trends or consumption.

Market / Society

An observation archive of shifting dynamics and attitudes across markets, advertising, corporations, and consumers.

It documents subtle frictions and shifts in attitude before they appear as data, including advertising aversion, AI skepticism, eroding trust, and the cancel economy.

This project observes the phenomenon of human beings being treated as reachable data, sales targets, and intent signals.

Rather than gathering personal information, it documents the very structure through which humans are digitized, classified, and circulated as contact targets.

Meaning Projects

This is a project dedicated to recording meaning within virtual spaces.

Countless places are emerging across virtual worlds like VRChat and Roblox. Meaning Layer records why these places exist, what questions they pose, and the interpretations they hold.

This project repositions the classics as inquiries for the era of AI.

It rereads literature, thought, poetry, folklore, and philosophy not as answers from the past, but as condensed archives of questions that humanity has yet to fully resolve.

Family / Learning

This project records the relationship between children and AI as small-scale experiments within the home.

Rather than an AI that provides immediate answers, this is a place for connecting favorite things, curiosities, and creative ideas with observation, language, and making.
